Program Overview
The AAAI-D Recognition Program is a voluntary global recognition program established by the American Academy of Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry (AAAI-D) to recognize organizations committed to the safe, ethical, evidence-informed, and responsible adoption of artificial intelligence.
The Recognition Program provides organizations with a practical framework to assess AI readiness, strengthen governance, support workforce development, guide responsible implementation, and promote continuous organizational improvement.
Whether an organization is beginning its AI journey or has already integrated artificial intelligence into clinical care, education, research, or healthcare operations, the Recognition Program provides a structured pathway toward organizational excellence.
Why Recognition Matters
Artificial intelligence has the potential to transform dentistry. Responsible adoption, however, requires more than implementing new technologies.
Organizations must establish effective leadership, governance, workforce education, human oversight, performance measurement, and continuous improvement to ensure that artificial intelligence enhances care while maintaining professional accountability and patient trust.
The AAAI-D Recognition Program recognizes organizations demonstrating these commitments while providing a roadmap for responsible and sustainable AI adoption.
Our Guiding Principle
Artificial intelligence should enhance—not replace—human intelligence, and every application of AI should ultimately serve the best interests of patients.
Human intelligence remains essential for professional judgment, ethical decision-making, accountability, and compassionate care. Artificial intelligence is intended to support clinicians, educators, researchers, and organizations—not replace their professional responsibility.
Recognition Framework
The Recognition Framework provides organizations with a structured roadmap for responsible AI adoption through:
- 5 Recognition Domains
- 25 Essential Criteria
- 5 AI Adoption Levels
